Business Area
The Research Development and Innovation (RDI) Centre opened in July 2007 at the firm’s Central Park Campus in Leopardstown. The first of its kind for the firm globally, the centre is dedicated to researching, developing and implementing innovative ventures on behalf of the firm worldwide. The RDI Centre was opened in partnership with the Irish government through the Industrial Development Agency (IDA) capability grant
Scheme. The core activity of the Centre is to develop and tailor innovative new solutions, applications and processes across the firm’s business lines.
Job Description
We require a Solutions Architect, reporting to the head of the RDI centre, to work within a small team with a remit to research new technologies for use within the firm, build and present cases to senior management for investment in new technologies and develop and deliver proof of concept projects.
The role involves working in close partnership lead technologists/designers globally, reviewing and contributing to designs, suggesting areas for improvement and identifying opportunities for leverage across the departments. Additionally working with architects to ensure that applications built in the Dublin Centre are delivered to a world-class standard and in harmony with the firm’s technology strategy.
Additionally, the role involves building relationships with both global and indigenous vendor partners giving the firm input early input into new products and emerging technologies.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a skilled technologist to gain a broad appreciation of the investment banking business.
Responsibilities include
Work with senior management to identify critical technology investments Partner with top 5-10% of projects, engaging with them during the inception and elaboration phases, or early agile process stages Engage the technology leads in "pair architecture" to review and improve proposed designs Produce documentary assessments of the state of critical investments Organize, prioritize, plan the engagements and communicate status with management Ensure firm-wide standards, conventions and policies are made known to projects, and help expedite their incorporation Identify opportunities for step-change improvement based on your experience and insights; advise management on a course of action Reviews target business architecture, the fit with the technical architecture and make recommendations Product Leadership:
