Senior Buyer KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Supplier Management and development of the current Global and potential Supply Base, sourcing, approvals, contract and SLA negotiation,
  • Administration of purchase requirements from Planners - i.e. Shortage reports/PO processing/Call-off/Reports
  • Maintenance of supply base pricing within Market Place, continuous benchmarking
  • Escalation point for issue resolution and liaison with other departments
  • Support Supply Base Manager, Team Goals and Objectives as required
  • Contributions to Commodity savings reviews
  • Maintenance of Supplier Ratings and Monthly Reports
KEY SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE:

  • Demonstrated administrative, organisation & communication skills required.
  • 3-5 years relevant experience in similar role is essential
  • Hardware and Electronics procurement experience and experience of dealing with a Chinese supply base would be highly beneficial
  • Self-motivation with drive, enthusiasm and commitment.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a team environment essential.
  • Commitment to innovation, continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Ability to effectively delegate, follow up on issues & provide solutions to key issues.
  • Demonstrate excellent problem solving skills necessary to resolve problems effectively and efficiently.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to sustain effective relations internally and externally at all levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects
  • Strong computer proficiency
  • A professional approach with attention to detail and 100% accuracy

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR THIS ROLE

  • Qualified to IIPMM/ IPICS level or a Third-level graduate
  • At least 3-4 years' buying experience in the Purchasing Dept. of a multinational company
  • Computer literate, especially in Excel
