Our client, one of Cork's leading multinational employers, has a requirement for a Global Assistant Controller to manage the efficiency and integrity of the internal control and financial reporting environment across the group.

Job Description:

The Assistant Controller role supports the Global Control function by assessing risks and establishing policy on a divisional basis and following through with site controllers for over 10 global locations.

The main areas of responsibility include:

Financial control and asset stewardship
Develop and advise on practical accounting solutions for significant and non-routine transactions
Monitor the continuing integrity of field financial reporting
Lead the Division implementation of Corporate-directed control initiatives
Develop and sustain processes that facilitate proactively identifying, communicating and addressing financial risks
Coordinate Division interaction with internal and external auditors
Provide a business-context control/accounting perspective and input into business development and expansion opportunities.
Develop and implement interpretations and guidance for the Division Control function on external and internal accounting and reporting regulations

Skills / Experience:

Qualified Accountant with 9 - 12 years experience
Experience of related financial control and reporting in an international environment is essential
Thorough understanding of US GAAP
Experience in change management is preferable

Personal Attributes:

Strong confident person required to deliver the message across the sites
Effective communication and influencing skills are a must
An element of international travel is involved in this position
Would suit Big 4 Senior Manager - Director level
