Matrix Recruitment is working closely with an Medical Devices manufacturer in the recruitment of a Quality Assurance engineer for its Midlands Plant.

We are now seeking to fill the role of Quality Engineer with this client.

Essential Criteria:

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
Industry experience. Medical device experience strongly preferred.
Strong computer skills
Familiarity with statistical tools such as Pareto charts and trend charts.
Familiarity with FMEAs (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and root cause analysis tools. Other tools such as Excel pivot tables, correlation studies, and process validation.

Demonstrated experience in regulated design environments, specifically medical device development, or, FDA or ISO registered work environments.

Regulatory experience with UL and IEC standards is desired. Six Sigma expertise demonstrated in the manufacturing and design of new products is highly desired.

Ability to effectively communicate highly technical information, both verbally and in writing, to both non-technical and technical associates.

Key Accountabilities:

Supplier facing

Completes new supplier evaluation and qualification

Liaises with supplier to ensure drawings and specifications are and fully compliant.
Work with our suppliers on identifying and effectively implementing SCARs requests). Review and analyze material and product non-conformance data for improvement.

Complete vendor audits
Work with Engineering, R and D and materials in identifying new material.

Product / Process development / Process support.

Work Manufacturing Engineering on the drafting & implementation of validation process

Liaise with Manufacturing Engineering on the completion of risk assessment for product line extensions, process improvements or automation projects

Provide quality support to Manufacturing Engineering.
Provide Quality input to support manufacturing process
Assist in the analysis and resolution of problems
Support and mentor Quality Inspectors in their day to day roles.
Design and implement quality control process sampling systems, procedures, and statistical techniques.
Ensure continuous compliance for packaging integrity and label control and compliance.

S ervice

Establish and maintain a fully regulatory compliant calibration system.

Assist in the specification and purchasing of Inspection Test and Measuring Equipment.

Coordinate calibration of equipment with contracted supplier.

Establish and maintain an environmental monitoring program to ensure continued compliance of cleanrooms.
Customer facing – internal and external relationships liason and support.
