New Product Introduction Engineer
Our Client a Blue Chip, Multinational medical device company based in Munster requires a Manufacturing Engineer with strong analytical ability and a back ground in Product design and New Product introduction. The ideal candidate would be coming from a medical device or electronics background or another highly regulated environment with a proven track record in Process development/improvement.
The role may require project work so previous project management and supervisory experience would be a distinct advantage and the ability to work successful across different departments and sites within Ireland and other countries.
This position is to provide support to the Manufacturing organization, to facilitate efficient operations within the production area and to optimize existing processes, and to ensure that production goals are met.
Responsibilities:
Researches, develops, designs, and evaluates electro-mechanical assemblies, processes and/or equipment requiring novel and new innovative approaches or a major breakthrough in technology.
Conducts feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality of processes.
Maintains detailed documentation throughout all phases of process development.
Investigates and evaluates existing technologies and coordinates project activities.
Mentors employees by sharing technical expertise and providing feedback and guidance
Provides support to the manufacturing organization to facilitate efficient operations within the production area, to optimize existing processes, and to ensure that production goals are met.
Monitors performance of equipment, machines and tools and corrects equipment problems or process parameters that produce non-conforming products, low yields or product quality issues.
Interfaces with Quality and Research and Development organizations to integrate new products or processes into the existing manufacturing area.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in mechanical or electronic engineering.
6+ years within a highly regulated environment.
Process development and/or improvement through use of six sigma and lean manufacturing philosophy.
Experience of lead free SMT would be a distinct advantage.
