Compliance Consultant – Funds, Life & Pensions
Responsibilities:
• Undertake and lead regulatory monitoring activities across all business areas.
• Provide a range of compliance guidance, consultancy and support to all areas of the business.
• Assess regulatory breaches and risks, recommend suitable remedial action and work with a variety of business areas to ensure all issues are adequately resolved.
• Communicate any regulatory changes/topics of interest to the relevant business areas and support the business in the implementation of identified changes where appropriate.
• Provide regulatory support to a variety of high level projects and business initiatives.
• Provide support to the Operational Risk & Compliance Manager in respect of Financial Crime, Data Protection and Information Security.
• Assist in the production of management information and regulatory reports for senior members of staff and members of the local executive.
• Engage with and influence the most senior people in the organisation in relation to regulatory matters.
• Establish and maintain good working relationships with other business areas to ensure effective compliance is maintained.
• Keep up-to-date with all legislative and regulatory changes.
• People Management responsibilities within 6 months of appointment.
• Deputise for Risk & Compliance Manager when required.
• Contribute to the planning and development of workloads and working practices within the Compliance Team.
Required Experience & Skills:
• 5+ years experience in operating in a compliance environment.
• Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills are essential.
• Financial services background with experience in the Funds services and/or Life Assurance/Pensions Sector is essential.
• Knowledge of Irish Regulations essential and UK Regulations preferable.
• Knowledge of the regulatory environment across other jurisdictions would be desirable.
• Ability to work unsupervised and on own initiative.
• Proven track record of building strong relationships across business functions.
• Experience in managing Compliance Professionals preferable.
