First off when I asked around the office if anyone had good news they wanted to share, the only thing they could come up with was the fact that its Friday – I promise this will only be used today – further thought will be required next week folks…

I also asked on Twitter and @mneylon came back to tell us he is hiring at the moment over at Blacknight and here are some special offers Blacknight are running on .me domain registrations.

Good news for me this week, Rebecca introduced me to hootsuite.com and I have to say its made interacting on Twitter and keeping up with things much much easier, highly recommended by moi.

For anyone in Cork I spotted this initiative yesterday – good value menus in some of the city and county’s top restaurants from 30th April to 9th May.

@brenstrong was telling me yesterday on Twitter that he got a new job this week and his wife who is also job hunting got an interview – well done you two, it’s not easy out there at the moment and good news like this is always welcome.

On the jobs front, we had a few announcements, Eirgrid, Retail Excellence Ireland and Intune Networks.

Finally something which can only be a good sign I think, new car registrations are up over 68% on March 2009, surely that’s a bit more confidence in the market?
